The Mini 7 Racing Club is pleased to announce continued support from racing damper specialist Öhlins for the 2018 season. Öhlins single-adjustable steel-body dampers were first mandated for the Mini Miglia Challenge in 2017, as a way of levelling the playing field and reducing overall costs. The front dampers, part number MMF5Q000, are supplied by Aurok Engineering and feature fixed internal valving, gas pressure and oil viscosity. This coincided in 2017 with the use of club-controlled Yellow spot front cones and Quaife ATB differentials. Despite changes to simplify the regulations, the combination of a new high-end front damper and up-rated differential unit actually resulted in four new lap records for 2017. With the continued partnership and updated regulations, Mini Miglia grids look set for a huge boost in 2018. We have three former club champions already registered for 2018, a handful of new faces, some returning drivers, and many new car builds-in-progress.
Over 300 world championship titles have been won using Öhlins racing suspension since the company was established in 1976 by Kenth Öhlin. Now one of the world's leading suspension specialists, Öhlins dampers can be found in a wide range of applications from mountain bikes to superbikes, and production cars to F1.
