Öhlins introduce their latest motocross front fork, the RXF 48 S. With this 2018 fork, we have continued our successful development path from previous model improvements.
Our keywords have been 'stability, defined and settled without harshness'. For 2018, we have made updates both internally in the damping system, as well as externally in the lower fork legs. The majority of track performance developments come from internal changes in the cartridge kit, which will also be utilised within our cartridge kits used for OE fork legs.
We set a development aim for 2018 which we were able to reach by redesigning crucial internal valve parts as well as modifying our shim stack layout. With these changes combined, we're
happy to offer the rider a fork which is improved in stability, rigidity, defined position, front wheel feedback, settled movement and the ability to handle bigger impacts. Of course with our trademark traction and no harshness characteristics untouched.
Our 2018 fork will feature golden TiNitride surface treatments on the lower fork legs for improved durability, scratch resistance and low friction in high load situations. Also changed is the guide sleeve colour from black to blue for a more unified visual appearance. Alongside these visual changes for 2018, our front fork sticker has been changed from the previous '40 year anniversary' decal to an updated version as a reminder of Öhlins established date of 1976.
