Öhlins at the PMW Expo in Cologne

Öhlins Racing AB is exhibiting this year via its Germany-based distribution and test centre (ÖDTC) close to the Nürburgring in Meuspath. The stand will be attended by staff from the German office and R&D group in Sweden.

Among all the shiny gold on display will be Öhlins' acclaimed TTX 36 damper. TTX is a well-established product in the world of motorcycle racing, where Öhlins is viewed as the number-one brand for suspension upgrades; in recent years the TTX dampers have grown in popularity on the automotive side too.

This versatile damper can not only be found in the top flight of motorsport on race cars such as the Audi R8 GT3, but also on select road and track cars where drivers are looking for the ultimate in ride and handling. The TTX 36 is based on a twin-tube design, featuring completely separate compression and rebound adjustability, which allows for more precision and improved response compared with a conventional single-tube type of damper.

The TTX 36 in its base format is a two-way adjustable damper, but can be easily upgraded to three- or four-way adjustable with the possibility of blow-off function also, which Öhlins claims provides even greater benefits on circuits such as the Nordschleife.
