One round before the seasons finish the 12 year old Maximilian from team Moto-Spies/LTRsports.de becomes Champion. At the 5th of 6 races the tall Husquarna rider achieved his goal and became Champion of the German Youth Motocross Championship 85 cc up to 16 years leaving his competitors no chance.

Being far ahead one race before the final round at 2nd of October in Lugau (Saxony) he finished first at the race in Thum (near Zwickau) and became new German Champion. "I was nervous because I knew I could win the title within this race but I delivered a solid race and when I gained the lead in round three I was certain to win the title." Maximilian said after the race.

The new German Champion rides with Öhlins suspension and will also trust in the "Swedish Gold" in future.

Because of his height and his outstanding results Maximilian will receive an extraordinary permit from the German Motorsport Association to be able to race with a 125 cc bike against adults at his age of just 13 next year. This permit was only given to a hand full of talents such as Max Nagl and Ken Roczen now competing with the world's elite in Motocross.

In 2017 Maximilian will race the German 125 cc Youth Championship, the ADAC Youngster cup and the DMSB MX2 championship. Fighting against adults will be a complete new experience for him but he is positive and he wants to climb the podium several times. But with all this activities he never leaves his main goal out of focus: "I want to race the World Championship with a team some future day."

We at Öhlins DTC are happy to be part of Maximillian's success and we keep fingers crossed for his future.
