The past race weekend offered many top rankings in racing achieved on Öhlins suspension.
In the qualifying race for the Nürburgring 24hrs, Hyundai Motorsport set a new lap record for TCR cars with Team Target Competition on their Hyundai i30N TCR. With 9:03:206 min, driver Andreas Gülden set the new best time and secured not only the lap record but also the pole position in his class for the team. Due to technical issues, the team finished the 6h race on an excellent 2nd place in the class ranking. In an thrilling race, #99 from Rowe Racing took second place and underlined this result with the fastest race lap of 8:18.141 min.
The first ADAC GT Masters race took place 14.04.2018 and 15.04.2018 at the Motorsportarena Oschersleben. In both races, Öhlins equipped vehicles took 1st and 2nd places. In race 1, the Audi R8 LMS from Phoenix Racing with drivers M. Hofer and P. Ellis became 1st whilst the second place went to S. van der Linde and K. van der Linde, also on the Audi R8 LMS. In race 2 on Sunday, two Lamborghini Hurancan GT3 had been at the top. 1st place for GRT Grasser's team with drivers M. Bortolotti / A. Caldarelli and 2nd place went to R. Ineichen and C. Engelhart, who also claimed the fastest lap in this race with 1'25: 306 min. More than half of the finishing cars had been equipped with Öhlins suspension.
In addition to the ADAC GT Masters, the ADAC TCR Germany was competing in two races on at Oschersleben. In the second race on Sunday M. Halder and his team Honda ADAC Sachsen won with the Öhlins equipped Honda Civic TCR 2018.
This successful race weekend was only crowned by the results of the Bennets British Superbike at Brands Hatch. Six-time BSB winner and local hero Shane Byrne beat Bradley Ray, Jason O'Halloran and Leon Haslam in the first race. In race 2, Leon Haslam prevailed in wet conditions and scored his first win of the season. This nice result for Öhlins was rounded off by the rankings of Glenn Erwin (P 2), Michael Laverty (P 3) and Shane Byrne (P 4).
