Double victory at VLN and ETCC on last weekend
Frank Stippler and Anders Fjordbach celebrated their victory at the 62. ADAC Westfalenfahrt in their Audi R8 LMS on the 24,358 km long VLN-track. For Stippler it is his 12th victory and for his Danish partner the first. The whole race was close and extremely competitive but on lap 5 Stippler could win ahead of pole sitter Marc Basseng. The second car from Team Phoenix crossed the finish line as first car but they were graded in second position because of a 35 second penalty. The champion car raced on specially developed TTX40 dampers from Öhlins DTC, the high-end Motorsport suspension from Öhlins. Frank Stippler was highly satisfied with the result:
“We were really good prepared with our new suspension manufacturer. It wasn´t clear how the whole package would work on the Nordschleife but the car was so good that I don´t know what to improve.“ Stippler said.
Petr Fulin from Team Krenek Motorsport dominated the first two races in ETCC on Circuit Paul-Ricard in France on Öhlins. At the first race with the new car Petr Fulin started in second position and cruised by pole sitter René Münnich. In his TCN2 SEAT León he kept this position in Super 2000 category until the end. At his second race he had to start from position 8 because of the reverse grid. After the first lap he reached position 3 and after three more laps he took first position. At the end Petr Fulin won with 7 seconds lead.
